The cooling effect of a fan explained

BONECO clears the air

How a fan provides refreshment in warm temperatures

To get to the point, which many people already know: Yes, a fan does not cool the air directly as we know it from an air conditioner. However, a cooling effect is created because a fan moves the air.

What exactly happens during cooling through this air movement can be explained in detail as follows:

1. Increased body evaporation

The generated air flow constantly carries new dry air to the skin, which promotes a faster evaporation of sweat. This evaporation process absorbs heat from our skin, making it cooler and leaving us feeling refreshed.

2. Heat release

Warm air is replaced by cooler air. By moving the air, the heat released from the surface of the skin is distributed more quickly. This prevents the formation of a warm layer of air around the body and helps to keep the skin cooler.

3. Air circulation

A fan improves the general air circulation in the room. Better air circulation prevents warm air from stagnating in one area and ensures a more even distribution of temperature in the room. This can make the room feel more comfortable overall, even if the actual average temperature is not lowered.

Many users also appreciate fans as they are an energy-efficient and cost-effective alternative to air conditioning systems. They are also an environmentally friendly alternative, as unlike air conditioning units, they do not require greenhouse gases to function and can be used in a greater variety of ways.
